    Hello @ambrix,

    (1) Set “Enhanced media shortcodes” option on Settings > Media > Media Library (tab)

    (2) Add a gallery based on a category with the shortcode on your homepage.

    (3) Use any slider plugin extending WordPress native gallery. For example, you can use Jetpack, just make sure to activate Shortcode Embeds and Tiled Galleries modules, and then add type="slideshow" to your shortcode.
