the metaslider is set to slide continuously but all the metasliders on the site are rotating as follows:
    slide, blink, slide, blink
    instead of
slide, slide, slide, slide, slide etc.

  • Hi @jkbsmokey2,

Not sure why but it looks like a bug with NivoSlider. Does it work normally if you use FlexSlider?

Switched to FlexSlider and it shutters, fades to a white space and sometimes the images appear as faded then back to shuttering…

The Nivoslider works correctly on some other browsers and the puffin mobile browser (Im told) But the malfunction appears on my desktop (windows 7) and safari via my iphone 6 plus

    Hi @jkbsmokey2,

Can you put one slider on a stand-alone test page and see if it works by itself? If so add a second one.

Are any of the slideshows duplicates of each other?

I added the shortcode for one of the metasliders to a new blank test page. The result is still the same. page: https://smokeybarn.com/test-page/

Each metaslider in each widget on the sidebars are individual.

    Hi @jkbsmokey2,

Is it possible to make a test page without the widgets?

How does it look when you view the preview in the settings area?

    Thread Starter jkbsmokey2

    (@jkbsmokey2)

I have changed the template of the test page to have no sidebars with widgets. The metaslider still looks the same.

However, If I preview the metaslider within the settings area, it functions properly! …….What could that mean?

    Hi @jkbsmokey2,

That usually indicates there is another JaveScript script that is conflicting. The slide animations looks off too which typically means the same (Likely the preview looks different).

Maybe try and see if R. Slides works instead of NivoSlider, or Coin Slider?

My next advice would be to disable all the plugins you can and see if it works, then enable them one by one until you can identify the conflict.

On R. Slides and Coin slider all effects options are faded out and I can’t click on them. I can only choose the “Fade effect”. Not sure why…will try disabling other plugins to see what I can find.

    Jetpack, settings, performance:

Load pages faster by allowing Jetpack to optimize your images and serve your images and static files (like CSS and JavaScript) from our global network of servers.

    Enable site accelerator
    -Speed up image load times
-Speed up static file load times
(THIS FEATURE WAS ENABLED, ONCE I DISABLED THIS FEATURE, METASLIDER BEGAN FUNCTIONING PROPERLY)

Is this safe for our site to have this feature in jetpack not enabled?

    Hi @jkbsmokey2,

You could try an alternative like Autoptimize in place of Javascript.

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/autoptimize/

    Hi @jkbsmokey2,

I checked your site and the issue still persists. Did you try switching to Autoptimize?

We already have quite a few plugins and didnt want to add another one that could possible conflict or create more issues. At the moment, we have chosen to keep the Jetpack, settings, performance you see below enabled (for optimal performance) and just live with the metaslider glitch.

Jetpack performance- Load pages faster by allowing Jetpack to optimize your images and serve your images and static files (like CSS and JavaScript) from our global network of servers.

    Enable site accelerator
    -Speed up image load times
-Speed up static file load times

Hoping that maybe a future update with jetpack or a future update with metaslider that the glitch will eventually fix itself…..not sure

Thank you for your responses and help
