Slide crop causing minor movements

    Hi, the blog I’m working on has varying different sizes of images in the slideshow; and its causing little movements in the height. If you watch the content below; you’ll see it go up a pixel; or down a pixel; on the first few slides; which does include a pic thats smaller than the slider. It is set to Smart Crop, on Nevo Slider. How can I fix this? Thanks.

    Hi,

    For the best result, I would recommend that you manually crop the image that is proportion to the width and height of your slider.

    Thanks, yes I appreciate that, but the ‘smart’ bit of smart crop is that content creators don’t have to worry about things like that… A pixel movement here and there is a coding issue; either my fault in setup or css, or in the meta/nevo code. I was just wondering which?! Thank you …

    Hi,

    Does it work in the preview area on the settings page? If yes, then it’s a conflict with your theme styling or something else on the page.

    If it doesn’t work there, try switching to FlexSlider. Does it work with FlexSlider?

    Hi, thank you. Yes, if I change to flexslider the problem goes away. But the dots look much better on the nevoslider. And this is with my css removed; so confirming its not my additional css.
    And yes the problem is there in Preview. I’d say its due to upsizing an image; an image which is smaller than the slider.
    Mmmm.. what to do …

    Hi,

    Have you seen the themes that are included in MetaSlider? IT’s right above Advanced Settings. Maybe one of those work for you? If not, you could just use some CSS to match the dots if you really like them.

    OK thank you, I’m almost there! I’ve used flexslider with the Simply Dark theme and customised it with loads of !important css (if there’s another way around that please let me know lol) .. But the slider is still determined to loose one pixel in height a second or so after loading… Actually the height of the image is still changing by one pixel at times too; but the outside container stops it pushing the dots down; and thus not pushing the content below down either.

    Gotta admit I never understood the differences between the Flex/RSLides/Nivo/Coin options, and had overlooked the themes perhaps.

    But my problem is solved for now, if a little hacky … thank you 🙂
