Hi @fanetteg,
Slick Slider uses WordPress core features to add and save fields to/in the gallery media modal. If the checkbox doesn’t save (stays checked) then core gallery fields like “Random Order” shouldn’t save either.
Here are some things I need to know:
- Does the checkbox “Random Order” stays check when you save and reload the post?
- Are there any error messages in your Browser’s console?
- Does clicking the checkbox “Use Slick Slider” toggle the slider settings (all the other fields below the checkbox)?
- If you check “Use slick slider”, update the gallery and switch to the Text Editor, how does the gallery shortcode look like? Please paste it here.
- Please post a screenshot of the gallery modal so I can make sure everything looks right (except for the not saving box)
Feel free to create a account for me on your WordPress site so I can check what’s going on. To do so, please create a new user (role: “Contributor”) and send the login details to tyrannous [at] chat [dot] wordpress [dot] org.
Thanks!

Hello Philipp,
Did you have a chance to look at this issue?
I am finalizing the website and this is the last big problem I am facing, any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi @fanetteg,
sorry for letting you wait!
Thanks for the detailed bug report. The JavaScript error you are getting is (hopefully) fixed in the upcoming version of the plugin. Please install the development version and test it.
The email address I told you to send the WordPress login credentials to doesn’t seem to forward to my personal email account. That means if the error won’t get fixed by the plugin’s development version, you’ll need to send the credentials again, this time to my personal account directly. I’ll give you further instruction on this if needed.
Hi Pilipp,
Thank you.
I installed the development version and now when I tick the Use slick slider box, it toggles the slider settings.
But still, when I save and come back, it is unticked and does not appear in the post. I can’t seem to see errors in the console now.
Please let me know where I can send the wordpress access!
Also I just want to make sure that it is possible to have thumbnails below the slider’s active image? I couldn’t find for sure on the plugin page!
Thank you
Ok.
There seems to be two bugs. The first is fixed in the plugin’s development version (the error message, which prevented the slider settings to toggle). The second bug is unrelated to the plugin and probably caused by your theme (checkboxes – even core one’s – not saving).
Send the login credentials to . I won’t have time to take a look at this before this evening, maybe even tomorrow. In the meantime, follow this post to help find the problem faster: http://www.wpbeginner.com/beginners-guide/beginners-guide-to-troubleshooting-wordpress-errors-step-by-step/

Thank you
Please open a new support thread for this. Don’t expect fast help from me, since I will first need time to get it working with your theme (in my spare free time).
Hello Philipp,
Thanks so much for taking the time to help me with this issue! I still have some time before the launch so thanks for taking time at all for helping me.
I’ve tried looking it up by myself but it’s beyond my capacities.
I just sent you the email with login infos.
Thanks!
Hi @fanetteg,
I haven’t got any email from you. Please make sure you spelled the address correctly.
Hi Phillip,
I’m sorry to have bothered you, slick slider is simple and amazing but I found another pluggin that works with the theme, which is more complicated and does not use the galleries but at least it works for now.
I am not deleting your access and you’re welcome to take a look if you wish to, keep me posted!
Hi @fanetteg,
I’m glad you found a solution. Since I still didn’t receive any email from you, I can’t take a look.
I’m setting this thread’s status to resolved
since the bug is likely with your theme.
All the best.
Hello Philipp,
this is strange because I sent it to the correct address!
Thanks anyway,
Fanette
