SKU included on Woocommerce cart and orders

Hi, I’m setting up a shop site using Woocommerce. Some of the products are simple and some are variable. I have used individual SKUs on the simple products and on each variation of the variable products. When an item is sold it is important that the SKU comes in with the order so that the product can be picked using the same code in the warehouse. But I can’t get it to appear anywhere apart from on the product page where the customer is making the purchase. After that it’s never seen again. Can I get it to come through with the the order onto the cart etc.?
