    So I found the code to SKIP TO MAIN CONTENT, and I understand where to put it on each individual page, but how do I add a single navigation link to the very top of the theme?

    Skip to Main Content

    <div>Navigation goes here</div>
    <div id=”main” tabindex=”-1”>
    <p>Main content goes here</p>
    a link in the main body
    </div>

    BTW I am not a coder, just a novice accessible website creator,

  • Hi susanfitzm!

    Are you just looking to add a menu item?

    No it needs to be a navigation link at the very top of the page before anything else. It is for screen reader users who do not want all the navigation links on every page read. So like a second navigation bar at the very top.

    I found a plugin that does it! And it has a feature that adds skip links, but it say they are already present. So how do I access them?

    Hi, skip to main content is already in my theme, just go to your website and click TAB key several times until you will see the link to appear. Skip to main content appears on FOCUS, so you can put mouse cursor in the browser’s address field and start clicking TAB key. When you will see Skip to content link, just hit SPACE key.
