Support » Plugin: Easy FancyBox » Sizing issues for SWF and SVG

  • Hi there,

First of all thank you for the plug-in, it’s great and am looking forward to the PRO version.

I’ve installed this on a site that uses a liquid layout. When the site is viewed on a mobile device, the fancybox-content div gets scaled down appropriately, but its children (in the case of SVG, for example <div> and <object>) take the default sizes (560×340).

How can I make them all scale down?

Furthermore, when loading an SVG how can I make it detect the SVG size rather than using the default size settings (a logo 200x150px is displayed at 560×340).

    Thank you.

  • Did you open the SVG in an editor (Notepad or Dreamweaver) and delete the size attributes first?
ALSO did you add this to the SVG file (for Safari)
    preserveAspectRatio=”xMinYMin none”

You can see SVG working here (but not w/ fancybox) but they do size with browser window changes:
SVG is the “RELIABLE” emblem I drew AND on the MAP on this page:

    Hi Frank,

I haven’t edit the SVG file in any way nor added any lines to it.
I think the main issue here is that the plugin is getting the default size and assigns them to the file and its wrapper as opposed to the file size being read from the file.

    The page in question:

    (currently in development).

The files are in the middle column under the Files heading.

Dear Andrei, I don’t remember where I read this but it is GOOD to edit the SVG file because the SVG file when it was created has a size in the code. Delete it.

I see Ravan, the plug-in author has answered some questions around here but has omitted this one.

Please let me know if there is a solution to my issue, any custom code I need to put in or if it simply can’t be done.

    Thank you.

Did you try the things I said?
    What is your website address?

    Hi Frank,

Yes. The link, as posted above is:

The issue is not unique to SVG, it applies to SWF as well.
This behavior of when the screen size is smaller than the default image size of the plug-in, it still loads the default size causing the box to be bigger than the screen has nothing to do with the files being displayed.

I think a block needs to be added to the JS that checks the screen size and if smaller than the default fancy-box size, it will adjust the defaults accordingly.

I think this is a plugin problem for the lightbox NOT the files. Get a better lightbox.

Well if this is the kind of support you offer I will stay clear away from the PRO version. Even a simple ‘can’t be done’ would have sufficed.

    I will use a different plug-in.

    Thank you for your help!

I have nothing to do with the plugin. I’m just trying to help you! It isn’t my plugin. I’m a member of the public.

    Hi Gomez,

This is not addressed to you but to the plugin author. This post is posted under the Easy FancyBox plugin support.

I appreciate you trying to help me.
