    Hey everyone

Indexing and some other operations on my installation take a long time. I think part of the reason is that the wp_relevanssi table has over 1 million records. THe “state of the index” shows about 4k documents indexed:

    Documents in the index: 4043
    Terms in the index: 1101952
    Highest post ID indexed: 27730

    Does this seem normal?

Yes, that is normal. It’s just 270 terms per post, not that much for a site with longer articles.

Indexing the whole thing is slow, but fortunately you don’t have to do that often – it’s a good idea to reindex the whole database sometimes, maybe once a year. If search is too slow, try setting a limit on searches or reducing the limit setting.

If it’s still too slow, then Relevanssi is not the correct tool for you.

Thanks, Mikko. The search itself is working well. It’s only some db operations that take up to 2 minutes. Working on offloading the db to an AWS RDS instance.
