    Hi!
I am quite new to the multisite feature of WordPress but so far everything worked as it should. My problem now addresses the linking:

    I have installed wordpress in
    mydomain.com/wordpress
and would now like to have my blogs available at
    mydomain.com/blog0
    mydomain.com/blog1
    mydomain.com/blog2
and so on. The basic idea behind: use wordpress for multiple blogs with my own main site which is not running wordpress and without having to add wordpress/... for every blog.

Since there wasn’t much to find on the web about this (actually there was something and it even comes from this forum – but I cannot really believe it, I hope you don’t prove me wrong…) I would like to ask you. I thought that with some clever use of mod_rewrite I could link directly form mydomain.com to the wordpress folder once blogX is called. In wordpress itself I would adapt the site url for every blog.
An other possible approach but by using subdomains is shown here but since its on subdomains the problem is slightly different.

What do you think? Possible and if yes, could my idea of going over mod_rewrite be a solution (so far I couldn’t make it work).
Thank you very much for your help in advance and sorry if I ask the question of the topic linked above again, I just think the settings may have changed 🙂

I am afraid that you are unlikely to get this to work. @ipstenu is something of an authority on all things multisite.

It makes sense that it would have but multisite specific things are fairly slow to change.

Maybe, hopefully, someone else will come over and tell me I am wrong 🙂

The answer is …. not at this time.

    Multisite Changes in 3.9

We’re making a LOT of changes in WP to make this happen, but it’s just not there yet :/

Thank you very much for your answers. Too bad to hear that it is not possible… yet – but I am glad your working on it. Thank you!

So you think even if I do some personal hack on my htaccess file wordpress won’t take it? If I install wordpress in mydomain.com/blog/ and place the blogs in subfolder of blog/ but then route around by htaccess to get the desired urls wouldn’t that work?
    Thanks again!

It miiight, but it’s not supported and I don’t know if anyone’s pulled it off. In theory it should work.

I got it, let’s see if I will find some time to try 🙂 Thank you!
