Support » Plugin: Yoast SEO » %%sitename%% not showing up in category or post titles…

  • I’ve been searching through other support threads for almost an hour… but I can’t seem to find a solution…

    The %%sitename%% shortcode (for Titles and Metas) is working fine for my home and archive pages, but for some reason nothing is showing up on my category or post pages. My title tag is as follows:

    <title><?php wp_title(”); ?></title>

    Even when I type in my site name (vs. using %%sitename%%) nothing shows up on catgory or post pages.

    Force rewrite titles is unselected. I tried selecting it, but nothing changed. Please help!

  • This is exactly what is happening to me too. On my homepage my sitename is correctly displaying, but on all my other pages it does not display. I have manually added it through SEO Titles & Metas and forced rewrite of titles but it still doesn’t fix it. My site is

    Home Page

    OK I’ve managed to fix it. I added the following code to my header.php
    <title><?php wp_title(); ?><?php bloginfo(‘name’); ?></title>
    That fixed my pages but doubled up my sitename on the home page. I then went into SEO Titles and Metas and on the Home page tab I set the Title template to read %%sitedesc%% only and this seemed to fix it.

    Same problem here, tried the above suggestions and they do nothing for me… Looking through this support page it seems to be a problem that Yoest hasn’t yet fixed as many people have the same issue…

    This is not a bug, but the plugin is designed like that. If you enter something in the SEO title box when you create a new post, it overrides the Titles and Metas settings you mentioned.
