sitemap.xml url is accessible but file is not visible via FTP

    WordPress 3.9
    XML Sitemap 4.0.4

    I can go to the site URL http://domain.com/sitemap.xml
    and your plugin page comes up saying that the sitemap was generated by your plugin.

    However the sitemap.xml file is not visible in the root directory when I view via FTP or SSH

    I was able to do a webmaster tools test sitemap and subsequent sitemap submission with out any errors.

    Just wondering why the file is hidden
    there is nothing specific in the .htaccess file and there is no robot.txt file either

    Hi,

    the sitemap is now egenrated like any other WordPress content. That’s why you can’t see it with your FTP progam 🙂
