# Sitemaps in multisite

 * I’d like to follow up the post [https://wordpress.org/support/topic/where-are-the-sitemaps-in-multisite/](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/where-are-the-sitemaps-in-multisite/)
 * Actually I still have the same question: I have a multisite and use RankMath 
   SEO to create the sitemaps for 2 subsites, but none of the sitemaps file are 
   in the root. Nevertheless it is found typing the URI.
 * Can you please tell where the sitemaps files are saved for the subsites (if they
   are there), if we really need them as a file when submitting to Google Search
   Console? The console is able to index only the homepage but not via the sitemap,
   so I’m wondering if I can rely on sitemaps created by RankMath SEO or I have 
   to choose an alternative method or plugin.

 * The physical Sitemap files are not created by the Rank Math plugin.
 * Also, all the articles/pages on your website use the `hreflang` tag which is 
   accepted by Google and other search engines:

 * It is one of the recommended methods by Google:
