I am currently using a third-party plugin for rank math xml for one, its does not work, its just reverts to our site’s homepage meaning does not exist. When it was working, it would not update, I started using it form the 27th November and from that date, no other URLs were added making the XML redundant.

No idea why its broken now but I need help to fix

Can you please try turning off the cache of the Sitemaps by using the following filter?
https://rankmath.com/kb/filters-hooks-api-developer/#enable-disable-sitemap-cache

I can add the filter to functions.php I believe however will that fix the issue with the page no longer showing, when I reactivate sitemaps.

Yes, the code will go to the theme’s functions.php file.

Please take a backup before editing the code.
