    Hi G,

Is there a way of getting all posts and pages listed on sitemap.xml?

Other than reverting to the old version? No.

May I ask: why would you want this?

In recent versions the sitemap.xml that used to be a simple xml sitemap became a xml sitemap index. The URLs that you see there are the actual xml sitemaps.

Please know that for Google and Bing the transition is seamless. You do not need to submit individual sitemaps. Spiders will recognize the new format as a sitemap index (you can confirm this in your Google/Bing Webmasters Tools account) and will follow the links inside to process the actual sitemaps.

Splitting by different sitemaps is beneficial for load speed, reduces resource usage and allows spiders the find new content more efficiently. If you have an active blog, I’d advise to go even further and choose the option “Split by year” under the Posts settings for the XML Sitemap.

Thanks for the additional info on benefits of the newer format. I just liked the old format, and wasn’t sure if the plugin was working properly – now I understand.
