Hi,

On google search console, I get an error related to this side map “Your sitemap appears to be an HTML page. Use a supported sitemap format instead.”

I have no problem with other maps. Does anyone have an idea how to fix this?

Hi @aldmor,

Viewing the source of the sitemap, I see an output “1” at the end of the sitemap. Please check if you have some plugins or snippet that output “1”. It looks like a debug code or some tests.

Hi @rilwis,

I cannot locate “1” in the file. But the site-map checking page shows errors like this:

When you view the source of the sitemap by pressing Ctrl-U or F12, you’ll see the number “1” at the end of the file. This is the screenshot:

This brakes the sitemap markup and thus can’t be validated.

Oh, okay

When I go to sitemap-post-type-page.xml, when logged in as admin, I see another file and there is no 1 at the end

That’s a good news. However, search engines see the file as a non-logged in users. That means there’s some code on your site that alter the file when user is not logged in. Please check that. I’m afraid this is not caused by Slim SEO.

I just looked at google search console and with this site map only, it still shows an error, but this time it refers to line 42. But there is nothing unusual.
