I noticed today that I hadnt had a post picked up by Google blog search since last November. I don’t regularly submit my site there (except for the first time) but the posts always appeared, so I assumed the Sitemap plugin was doing the legwork.
I thought back and remembered that November was about the time I installed the Feeburner plugin. Not sure if thats relevant…
So yesterday I went to the Google blog search ping page and manually entered my standard WordPress feed address, then signed up for a Google alert on my site. Nothing. Today I went back and submitted my feedburner address, within 2 hours every single post between November and now had appeared.
Am I right in thinking the Sitemap plugin deals with submitting sites to Google blog search? And if so, is it possible that its submitting the wrong feed url? It seems strange that it worked without perfectly without intervention until then..
Any help would be much appreciated – until then, I’ll be making a point of resubmitting manually 😉
