• Hello,

I have many deleted posts and unpublished post and they still show up in the sitemap.

These posts are a custom post type. I am wondering if there is any issues with these post types?

    WordPress version: 3.4.2
    WordPress SEO version: 1.2.8.7

I did this: Deleted some posts.

I expected the plugin to do this: Remove them from the sitemap index

Instead it did this: They are still showing and I’m getting a 404 if I click on them.

    Of course I wouldn’t submit a 404-filled sitemap to Google…

I’ve tried disabling some extensions, but no luck. Some extensions I simply cannot disable because the site’s core rely on these.

Here’s the list of plugin I am using. They are all updated to latest version available.

    Advanced Custom Fields
    Better WP Security
    Broken Link Checker
    CodeStyling Localization
    Google Analytics for WordPress
    Login LockDown
    NextGEN Gallery
    openxwpwidget
    Quform Form Builder
    Redirection
    Search Everything
    ShareThis
    TinyMCE Advanced
    Extension “User Role Editor”
    WordPress SEO
    WP-Migrate-DB
    WPBakery Visual Composer
    WPML Multilingual CMS

    Thanks,

I have also desactivated my theme and tried twenty twelve.. still the same problem!

i used a different sitemap generator which is far better

prefer to keep them both separate to be honest.

    Hi,

    Thanks for the heads up.

May you let us know what plugin you’re using instead of the Yoast Sitemap?

    Thanks,
