SiteMap marks Tags as NoIndex

    Hello,

    The XML Sitemap Generator for WordPress 4.1.1 has the following settings:

    Sitemap Content
    WordPress standard content:
    > Include homepage
    > Include posts
    > Include static pages
    > Include categories
    Include archives
    Include author pages
    > Include tag pages
    Custom taxonomies:
    > Include taxonomy pages for Media Tags
    Further options:
    > Include the last modification time.`

    (> means checked on)

    it is creating the sitemap.xml file.

    however, google search console shows the following for all my tags:

    Crawl
Last crawl: Apr 19, 2021, 10:25:04 PM
Crawled as: Googlebot smartphone
Crawl allowed? Yes
Page fetch: Successful
Indexing allowed? error No: 'noindex' detected in 'robots' meta tag

    I have no clue why all my tags are marked as noindex;

    kindly advise what may be going on and how to fix it;

    @wnjusa could you please check your robots.txt and ensure you are not blocking certain pages.

    @wnjusa we need more information. Tag pages have noindex set in meta, which can be from the theme or other plugins for example. We would need to investigate your website. In the interim, you could disable other plugins or switch to a stock theme in a staging environment or during a maintenance window in order to see if the theme or plugins are changing the expected beahvior.
