Whenever I try to set up the sitemap to display 5k posts i get this error:

This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below.

Any idea how to fix this?

    Thank you!

    Hi,

Not all the server are handling so much data processing. You can choose to paginate the posts with 500 posts per link.

Let me know if it’s working with 500 posts per sitemap page.

    Best regards,

1000 works fine, and 1 month back 5000 was also ok, but for a while now it just gives that error

And I would really like for it to display 5k because my site is growing fast and now it is up to 50k posts

I understand but it’s all about the processing time.

Now that you have a bigger database and you want to show 5k posts, your server needs to process a lot of data only querying the database and matching the results.

The sitemap is for Google to know your URLs and it doesn’t matter if there are 5k in a sitemap or 1k in 5 sitemaps. The important thing is to let Google to access these data fast.

Squirrly will add all the 50k in the sitemap (when you get there) and will paginate them in 1k / sitemap.
