[resolved] Sitemap Canonical Issue (5 posts)

Hello, My website is under this URL structure: http://gizmolord.com
The URL http://www.gizmolord.com successfully redirects to http://gizmolord.com

The sitemap should be in this location: http://gizmolord.com/sitemap_index.xml

But, unfortunately instead of redirecting the URL to http://gizmolord.com/sitemap_index.xml when http://www.gizmolord.com/sitemap_index.xml is called, it is giving a blank page output.

This results in a heavy downfall in SEO aspect. Please help to resolve the same.

Just to be clear: this is not a canonical issue. This is a protocol issue and the behaviour is largely due to your server setup.

Even so, I believe this open pull request will solve it. Would be nice if you could test it and confirm.

How exactly to implement? I am basically new with the github concept and I fail to understand there.

Okay, I tried exploring it and got to know how github functions.

Implemented the addition 2 lines of code in place of 1 function specified in the yoast plugin file and it worked :)

Now I could access the sitemap both in "www" and without "www". Thanks to you for referring the link, JRF :)

Very glad to hear you got it working & thanks for confirming that that is the solution.
