That particular plugin generates an 'index' sitemap, which in turn can break off into category sitemaps, tag sitemaps, post sitemaps, etc

It's a way to keep things organizaed, and happens automatically.

You use the above as your main sitemap, and any other ones generated by the plugin will be automatically included

But howcome my sitemap is invisible to the search engines, the website checkers online, seo power, and traffic travis?
    Before it worked.
So do i need the google xml plugin when i use the wordpress seo yoast?
and has it something to do with the permalinks?

I have a custom pêrmalink like
    before it was
now i dont use categories so i removed them..
can you tell me what to do?

I would stick with wordpress seo, you don't need both

Have you pointed search engines to the URL I provided?

There is no sitemap.xml, so it won't be found

you need to point them to sitemap_index.xml for them to pick it up

i tried it and the result is:
that i am invisible in all the best search engines.
    like google, yahoo,
on the site http://www.sitemapchecker.net/ i checked the link as you wrote it and the result is that there is no sitemap ....
would you mind taking a look inside the site?
than i can send you the login

    Something has changed...

When I visited the link on my first reply (sitemap_index.xml), there was a sitemap there

Now when I visit that link, there is no longer a sitemap. Something isn't right in your configuration, have you changed something?

--Also, I'm not comfortable logging in to your website and do not require any credentials. As far as I know, wordpress forum volunteers in general don't do that - too much liability.

So than i dont know what to do anymore.
For me it is a mystery
If i remove wordpress seo i will lose all my meta subscribtions on all pages...
or maybe it can be another plugin which is corrupt with the sitemap..
where can i let it fix it?

I definitely recommend the wordpress seo plugin

Just check through your settnigs on there.

Go to the XML sitemaps on WordPress SEO plugin and check to make sure they are activated. Also ensure you aren't excluding stuff on that page

The click the provided button to see if you can get to your sitemap. It should bring it right up in your browser

Since you had 2 different sitemap plugins running there may have been a conflict - if things aren't working right, turn sitemaps off in the wordpress seo plugin. Then save settings. Then turn them back on and save settings. Then test.

Well i did what you said and here is the result
i also removed the google sitemap plugin.

so it seems that the sitemap is available but then why cant it be found by the search engines.
Few weeks ago i had a nice pagerank in Bing, Yahoo, Google and also
    a ranking of 2
But now it doesnt appear any longer into the engines..

OK, your sitemaop is up again... so:

    THIS is your main sitemap

It points to the one you listed
It will also point to any further sitemaps the pluigin would generate

If you give this URL to search engines, they will find it.
