Hello @wazone, thanks for getting in touch and for sharing all the details you have which are very helpful. When checking your site health information that you shared I can see you have a number of plugins active on your site.

Could you please try following the troubleshooting steps here and let me know if you get the same outcome when in troubleshooting mode with just the Site Kit plugin active? This may highlight a plugin conflict that could be causing this to happen.

Let me know how this goes for you and if you have any other questions at this time.

The plugins i got have been working with site Kit until last update.
Ive disabled all plugins, one by one, all: Site kit(last update): Out of Memory.

With Troubleshooting plugin: Site kit – Enabled: Out of Memory.

@wazone Thanks for trying. Could I next ask you to try going to this URL which will create a temporary test WordPress site for you with Site Kit pre-installed. Could you then try setting up Site Kit on this site and let me know if you have any issues like you do on your own site.

If you don’t encounter any issues then this could point to a server/hosting issue and you may need to discuss this further with your hosting provider.

    Hello,

    My host reply:
«We have checked all the details including error, debug, and access logs. Moving forward we deactivated all plugins and kept only the site kit plugin active and tested it with the default theme but it is still not working. Since you are using Cloudflare proxy, we also tested it with local host entry to bypass CF but still there was no luck. We set high memory limit from php-fpm settings but this is not related to app or server-level memory.  We can conclude that the issue is not related to any plugin or theme, the Site kit plugin itself is causing issues.»

Is there a way to download version 1.141.0 or any before to test?

@wazone Thanks for sharing the outcome of your tests that’s all very useful to know. It doesn’t look like you see any error in Site Kit itself and that this is a console error, is that correct?

You can try downgrading Site Kit to a previous version by going to this URL, scrolling to the previous versions section, and selecting a previous version from the drop down. Please can you confirm with me if you encounter the same issue when using a previous version.

If possible, could you also share a recording of this issue happening on your site. This may help provide more insights for us and help to find the cause of the issue.

Let me know if you have any issues with the above.

    Hello,
    I tried version 1.139.0 – Works perfectly.
    I tried version 1.140.0 – Works perfectly.

These are errors from the Firefox DEV browser that was recorded. Not sure if this is helpful or not.

It doesnt show, but the out of memory page comes at the end.

@wazone Thanks for sharing the added information and interesting to hear that it works for you on a previous version. Could I check with you if you tested using the temporary test WordPress site and if so, did you encounter the same issue?

Is there an option for you to create another fresh WordPress site on the same host with just Site Kit installed? This could be a subdomain or fresh new site if you have the space to do so. If you can then please try this and let me know if you encounter the same issue as you are facing on your site.

In the meantime, please feel free to continue using the previous version if this works for you.

@adamdunnage – worked fine with the test you linked. (forgot to mention that in my reply earlier)

    – Also, i made a stage site + a fresh install with Sitekit latest version.
On fresh install = same problem
    On stage = same problem.

@wazone Thank you for confirming this and for sharing more of your troubleshooting results.

I have so far been unable to replicate this issue and as you don’t encounter the same issue with another fresh site and you don’t see the same on the temporary test site, this points to the issue being at host/server level.

I see you mention that you are using Cloudflare with your site. Have you tried temporarily pausing Cloudflare on your site? Could you confirm if the same happens on the latest version of Site Kit with Cloudflare paused?

Having this same issue, tried all these steps aswell. I am not running cloudflare on my site and still having it.

    Ive tried everything now.

This is a plugin error – not host/server issue
The version 1.140.0 works fine. The error logs shows the plugin has some issues when trying to connect to google. Never ending loop.

I’ll keep using 1.140.0 till the plugin is fixed 🙂

Thanks for sharing all these insights @wazone. As I can see some errors, including the below, I suspect this may very well be a plugin error as you’ve suggested, although triggered by something at host or CDN level:

    • can't access property "hasClass". h is undefind
    • Uncaught (in promise) ReferenceError: Unhandled Promise Rejection: Can't access ;exical declaration 'o' before initialization

One of the reasons this may be an error specific to Site Kit and your site set up, are some WordPress core mentions given some of the errors reference core WordPress features, not specific to Site Kit. From the checks I just performed on your site, I can see various optimizations performed, including scripts being requested from a CDN, content minified, scripts loaded from Cloudflare and deferred, and JS resources combined. While such optimizations don’t typically impact Site Kit set up, it’s not uncommon to encounter issues with snippet detection when setting up Site Kit. If you’re able to pause Cloudflare once more, and disable any optimizations at host level, I’d be happy to check your site once more, confirming that all scripts are ran from your site locally. You may also wish to temporarily deactivate any Divi enabled optimizations. Once I check your site I can let you know if all looks good to attempt Site Kit set up once more.

I’m also aware you did perform many checks above, and appreciate your insights. Given you do have various optimizations and a CDN in use, it’s possible that some checks were performed on a stale cached version of your site, which is why I can check your site first when all such optimizations are temporarily disabled.

Let me know if you have any questions with the above. Thank you.
