    Hi there,

    I use staging from siteground: https://www.siteground.co.uk/tutorials/staging/

    On my live website I have updraftplus free installed and daily backups happen to my Dropbox.

    When I do staging onto my live website, the staging environment has updraftplus enabled as well as the daily backups. I don’t mind if updraftplus does daily backups locally, but it seems to have access to my Dropbox as well and does automatic backups to my Dropbox!

    This is an issue because I use staging for doing obscure code changes etc that can break. I don’t want that to be backed up and then restored by mistake onto my live website!

    How do I deal with this?

    You can use the filter updraftplus_boot_backup to selectively abort a backup; have something that checks something that varies between the sites (e.g. the value of site_url()):

    add_filter('updraftplus_boot_backup', 'my_updraftplus_boot_backup');
    function my_updraftplus_boot_backup($carry_on) {
     return (something....) ? false : $carry_on;
    }

    Ah that makes sense, thank you!
