The problem happens when the Combine CSS Files is enabled in the SG Optimized Settings > Frontend > CSS
According to another answer I received from DonDivi who was also kind enough to look into this matter:
“Links other than Gutenberg buttons are now underlined. This has been introduced in a recent version of WordPress (I think)… but the default Divi (theme) styles remove the text decoration. That’s why the underline should not appear regardless the Gutenberg CSS introduced in WordPress 6.1. The only thing I can think right now, is that Siteground optimizer is priorizing the Gutenberg styles over the Divi styles (maybe because all the styles are being combined)!”
That seems to be the issue. If Siteground could fix this issue, it would mean I (and many other developers) don’t have to change css on hundreds of websites.
Hope that helps,
Cheers,
Walter
Hey @avviano,
Our plugin has been extensively tested with Divi and we have not received similar reports so far. I also took my time to test the described issue on a test installation with Divi 4.19.1 but was not able to replicate it. I created a page using the Divi Builder and inserted a few links but all of them were properly displayed. Of course, I made sure that the “Combine CSS Files” option in Settings > Frontend > CSS was enabled during my tests.
Note that we have released an update for SG Optimizer and the latest version is now 7.2.8. I noticed that Divi also has a new version (4.19.2) so please make sure that both components are updated to their latest release respectively.
If the issue persists after that and your site is hosted with SiteGround, please open a support request from your Client Area so we can look into this in more detail.
Regards,
Dimo
Hi again and thank you for your response.
I updated to the most recent versions (WP, DIVI, SG Optimizer). The issue is still there. All my links are underlined. When I deactivate the SG Optimizer plugin, the issue is resolved. A member of the Elegant Themes support team logged on to investigate the issue and confirmed, that this is a SG Optimizer plugin issue. She wrote “I am able to confirm the issue you’re having with SG Optimizer… I suggest reaching out to SG Optimizer plugin”. This is what I am doing now.
Thank you for offering to look into the matter, which I think should be of interest to you, as this affects multiple of my client sites. I can also confirm, that this behaviour was introduced in a very recent update. 1-2 weeks…
Please let me know how to proceed. If you need WP log-in details and link, let me know how to send it to you securily.
I need this issue resolved quickly, as this affects 30 or more of my client websites (I haven’t counted all of them).
Greetings,
Walter

Hello @avviano,
Please do not share your login details here as it is against the forum rules.
The best course of action would be to open a new Support Ticket from your Client Area and provide the topic here as a reference. In the ticket simply provide us with a website where the issue is present.
One of our support team members will look into the issue and escalate it internally if needed.
Best Regards,
Gergana Petrova
I have done as you asked. Siteground is looking into the issue and will hopefully have an update soon. Cheers
Walter,
Same issue here. On some sites, we use WP Rocket in conjunction with SG Optimizer. On one with WP Rocket activated, disabling “Combine CSS Files” fixed it. Another, without WP Rocket activated, only disabling the SG Optimizer plugin completely fixed it. Please post any news you receive from SG. We will submit this issue to SG support as well.
The issue reported by @avviano was resolved by excluding the following file:
/themes/Divi/style-static.min.css
from the Combine CSS option in SGO plugin.
@codeffa, you can try the same fix and if this does not help, you can create a ticket from your SiteGround account so we can perform more detailed investigation.
