    Hey guys

Very strange issue that I have never encountered before. All of a sudden my “site_name” is missing from all email notifications to users and the email subject is saying “New WordPress site” which I swear wasn’t before.

Usually, the signature of these emails say “The team @ Site_Name” and in fact i verified this is in the network settings email format. However, emails now just say “The team @” And the emails also say “your new site is ready” instead of “your new (Site_name) site is ready”

Anyone know what would cause the “Site_name” function to just go missing? I verified the site name is filled in on the network general settings. Also, I really really need these emails to stop saying “New wordpress site” I am already using “Configure SMTP” which is correctly replacing sender name and email instead of the default “wordpress” Thanks!

    What plugins are you using?

On your network settings, what do you have for “New Site Settings”?

    Hey Mika!

Thanks so much for your quick reply! I found a BUG and I love finding those! haha..It ended up being a bug with WPMUDev’s “Multi-Domains” plugin! When installed and activated it removes the “Site_Name” from New Sites emails and replaces it with “New wordpress site”

When I uninstalled it, the emails went back to saying “New Site_name Site” and replaced the signature with the Site_name as well. So its definitely something to do with the Multi Domains plugin not being able to understand what “Site” has just been created. Very strange and I have reported it to them.

If you’re just mapping domains, this plugin works fine: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wordpress-mu-domain-mapping/

Thanks a lot Mika! I was using it though not for mapping per se but for users to be able to create site with their choice of 3 different domains. but i found this was confusing anyway since cookies are not synced across domains for security reasons. so im ok with not offering this right now 🙂
