    Hello,

I enabled easy as pie maintenance mode and my site will not activate the plugin. When I view my site in serval broswers I’m still able to see the site instead of the maintenance mode. I don’t have plugin cache. Tried viewing the site on my cell phone, in firefox, internet explorer and I logged out.

Thank you in advance for any light you can shed on this matter.

  • same exact problem here too. brand new install, and the maintenance mode page only comes up with internal pages on the site. the main page does not trigger the maintenance mode web page. I have tried multiple computers, browsers and disabled all cache, removed cache plugins, even tried it on a different computer that has never seen the site before.

    wordpress v3.9.1
only one plugin active (easy pie main mode v0.6.4

    help please

I dont know if this helps but I extensively tested both of the plugins that are made by this plugin developer and both do the same thing.. very strange.

I installed this plugin and it works immediately.
    WP Super Cache Settings

I dont want to use this other plugin but cant have customers viewing the site while in maintenance mode either.

Any help appreciated or I am glad to help test if needed.

Hmmmm…very strange that this has popped up for both of you at the same time and I hadn’t seen this before… What web host are you each using?

mbono – Just to clarify, are you saying that it started working only after you installed WP Super Cache?

mbono Also – in your first post you indicated that maintenance mode was the only active plugin at the time – were there any other plugins installed that were inactive at that time? If so, which ones?

    Thanks

    Hello Bob,

The maintenance mode finally kicked in and is working fine. It appears it takes a bit of time (maybe 15 minutes) at the initial use after install but after that it works fine.

    Thanks,
    Angela

I had same issues, apparently it does in fact take about 15 minutes to become active

Hmm…there isn’t anything in the plugin that delays rendering. A delay like this really sounds like a caching plugin at work (Typically they have a ‘cache timeout’ which is an indication to the plugin to purge it’s cache and re-capture the output, which is then presented to users rather than having to go through the typical re-render process)

possibly.. I am using WP supercache… nonetheless I think it looks excellent. way better than the other maint. mode plugin I was using
