• Hello, the allocated upload space quota does not seem to be working. To test it, I set 5Mb for a blog and tried uploading images with total size higher than 5Mb, these images and more uploaded successfully. I was expecting it to throw up a notice(error) like “upload space quota exceeded”.

Is there any setting I”m missing? Please any help will be very much appreciated.

  • If you’re referring to the “Site upload space” setting in Multisite, I just tested it, and the feature certainly works.

I just created a new multisite network to test this, set the site upload space to 5MB, and used the Gallery block to try to upload a whole bunch of images to one of the subsites. Only the first few images were uploaded until the 5MB space was used up. See the screenshot below.

So the WordPress feature inherently works, but it seems something in your environment is breaking the feature. (Btw, did you check the checkbox after setting the space limit? 😀 )

Thanks for taking out time to check for me. But what box are you talking about, please?

And how were you able to paste screenshots directly here?

First, is this the upload space for individual subsites in Multisite that you’re talking about?

If YES, then, while logged in as a SUPERADMIN, go to MY SITES => NETWORK ADMIN => SETTINGS and scroll down to “Site upload space”.

Sorry, but what is this section for? You will find it at the bottom of every site settings tab.

    Here’s my thinking:

The setting at MY SITES => NETWORK ADMIN => SETTINGS => Site Upload Space is a sitewide or global setting. The checkbox activates the enforcement of the feature, and the value you enter applies the same max upload space to all sites.

The setting in the individual site’s SETTINGS screen allows you to override the global space allocation on a per-site basis, allowing you to give different space allocations to different sites in the network. But for this to work, the global setting should have been turned on first.

But for this to work, the global setting should have been turned on first.

What I found out is that the sitewide option has to be checked first, In order for the individual site setting to work. And, that’s a problem because I do not want to allocate disk quota for the main site and a few other sites related to the main site.

    Many thanks.

And, that’s a problem because I do not want to allocate disk quota for the main site and a few other sites related to the main site.

Just put in an arbitrary large disk quota — like several hundred gigabooms — in the sitewide setting, and put the desired small quota in the individual sites that you want to limit their disk quota.

I guess I have no choice if that’s the only solution.

Edit: It seems checking the box and leaving the field blank works.

    Thanks a bunch.

    Hello there…

I’m having the same issue, in /network/settings.php I check the option to site upload space and set to 200MB but there’s no way to change this settings for indivual websites, example:

If I try to edit a specific website and click in settings page the Blog upload space is blank: https://i.imgur.com/W5zTcGH.png and does not matter if I set to 5000 or 5000MB or 5GB or something like that, always after click in save it returns with the field blank.

How can we customize the space max upload space in specific websites?

    Thanks
