Site title made into H1 tag site wide – Free Make Theme

I installed the free Make Theme to test it out when I already had content and used another them previously. Thankfully the site did not break. The theme is easy to use and presents well.

I notice that now the Site Title appears as H1 throughout the site. How can I change this or remove it without removing the site title?

In the Hemingway theme I previously used, the title of each page appeared as H1 automatically. Is the reason for this error now appearing inherited from the previous theme? It seems a bit strange as the theme CSS is different.
