Site Structure

  • I am trying to figure out how to get my site structure like I want it:

    * site home page –> ecrosstexas.com/home/
    * site page –> ecrosstexas.com/pageslug/
    * blog home page –> ecrosstexas.com/blog/
    * blog posts –> ecrosstexas.com/blog/YYYY/MM/DD/slug/

    Any ideas?

  • Hmmm.
    for site home page – why do you need home? Wouldn’t be enough ecrosstexas.com?

    for 3 and 4 if you install your blog in a folder named “blog” under the root – you’ll have exactly what you want (if using nice permalinks)

    if the “Pages” are created with WP, they will reside in ecrosstexas.com/blog/pageslug

    Maybe if you are a .htaccess expert you can write some custom rules to have the Pages where you want. I am not 🙁

    That’s the thing. I really want the “pages” and the “blog” to live at the same level.

    I don’t want pages under the blog heirarchy.

    That’s illogical. Since the Pages are created with the script living in the “blog” folder… they should be there 🙂

    Illogical as you may think it, this is what I want to accomplish. Can anyone offer advice here?
