    Hi,

I am using Pro ISP as my web host, which uses cPanel, for my site http://www.sisist.no.

I’m completely new to all this website stuff, so I hope you’ll excuse me if I’m confused with the words and codes and all that jazz.

I had some struggles with the configuration file before i got it right (it all boiled down to a typo in my database name), so I tried to delete all files from my cPanel File Manager and upload the wordpress 4.3.1 zip file again. I got an error message when trying to unzip the folder, even after trying several times. After discovering the typo in the database name, I restored the deleted files in the File Manager and was able to log in to the wp-admin site. It all seemed to work fine until I wanted to view a post I had written. It just shows a blank page. It’s the same with the homepage.

    To sum it up:

    My site is completely blank.

    My wp-admin section works fine.

This is not an update of an existing site, it’s a new installation.

I have searched the forum for any clues, and have found that many others have the same problem (or had several years ago, at least), but the solutions seems somewhat not applicable in my case. This is what I have tried:

    Installed the latest wordpress version.

    Deleted all Pluggins.

Only using the Twenty Fifteen theme.

Adding ‘DirectoryIndex index.html index.htm index.php’ in the .htaccess file.

    Cleared the cache.

I really hope someone can help me out of this really frustrating situation so I can go ahead and create my site.

    Thank you!

Well, isn’t that funny how you often find the answer yourself right after giving up and reached out to others for help?

I suddenly found that my index.php file was completely empty. I have no idea how that happened, but reuploading the file seemed to solve the problem.
