Site set up dreamweaver cs5 to wordpress

  • Hi there,

First post here, it is just a small question.

So I have my site completely set up on DWcs5 and it is completely functional on the localhost. Now I want to move my site from just this localhost to the web. Instead of getting hosting can I still just put it back up onto wordpress so it is a ‘http://www.abc123.wordpress.com’ website? Or must I find my own hosting now that I have stuffed with its layout 😛

The reason I ask this is I am trying to do a Site Setup for my Blog and it asks for my
    FTP ADDRESS
    USERNAME
    PASSWORD

Which set of details do I enter? my wordpress.org ones or my wordpress.com ones?

    I am kinda confused 🙁

Thanks heaps girls and guys 🙂

You cannot upload or change any files on a WordPress.COM site (and these forums do not support WordPress.COM sites).

So to move your own version, yes, you will need hosting and then see:

FTP is set up through the hosting company – it’s not part of WP – and FTP info is not the same as your WP info.

    WPyogi,

Thank you for clearing that up, I now understand that wordpress.com is a blog site and wordpress.org is the platform so to speak.

    Thanks v much.

    B
