    Hi all,

I’m planning to create a new site based on WordPress. I think I will be planning to do multisite, I need some advice on how this should be done.
The website is composed of 4 parts:
    – Information (about us, etc)
    – Blog
    – Shopping cart
    – Tutorials

I plan to place information and shopping cart together and use pages for them. However, I have large amount of blogs and tutorials that need to be in posts instead, but I don’t want to mix them because the tutorials need to have privileges to access (which is controlled by the shopping cart).

So first of all, I’m not sure if I need multisite, because I can implement privileges. On the other hand, I’m not sure that would work out correctly because I would like to import users from my existing WordPress blog site (another site).

The second issue is that I wish to have different themes, perhaps, for the blogs, and for the tutorials. How can I do that if I don’t use multisite?

And the third issue is the real reason why I want a multisite. Right now, I have several subdomains using the corresponding information, like shopping, blogs, and so on. I need to map them correctly if I end up setting one big site instead of several smaller sites, how can I do that?

    Regards,
    Angela

I’d probably do it via Custom Post Types, to be honest, except for the sub-domain issues…

The easiest way would be to make a site called ‘tutorials’ for example, and that would show up at tutorials.yourdomain.com

using multisite would be easier yes.
