 * Hi,
I was having an issue updating my site as it said I needed to do a php update,
after going back and forth with my website provider I now have the issue where
when I try to go to my site it simply says ‘this website has been deactivated,
please contact support’. I have gone back to my domain hosting provider and they
said this is a problem with wordpress. Wondering if anyone can help me with this?
 * The page I need help with: _[[log in](https://login.wordpress.org/?redirect_to=https%3A%2F%2Fwordpress.org%2Fsupport%2Ftopic%2Fsite-php-issue%2F%3Foutput_format%3Dmd&locale=en_US)

 * I cannot access the domain you mentioned. You will need to clarify this with
   your host’s support team.
 * The message “this website has been deactivated” is not generated by WordPress.
Your host should also be able to help you with this.

 * I opened your page and saw that it displays the error message, “There has been
a critical error on this website.” You need to check the link to the troubleshooting
article below the error message. Try following the steps from the article and
come back with more specific information. I will try to help you.

 * Now I can access the domain again and see this error message. The reason for
the error should be visible in the error log. You can find it in your hosting
area. If necessary, the support of your hosting can help you.
 * Alternatively, you could also enable debugging in WordPress. How to do this is
   described here: [https://wordpress.org/support/article/debugging-in-wordpress/](https://wordpress.org/support/article/debugging-in-wordpress/)–
also here the support of your hosting can help you if necessary to edit the file
   accordingly.
 * In both cases you should be able to see what the cause is in the logfile.
