site not working after cpanel restore

Well…long story short, our website was hacked over a week ago. We were able to get things back to normal, and everything seemed to be working fine except the homepage images (they appeared to be broken). I’ve been told it is a multitude of different things causing this. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled the theme, I’ve asked my host to change permissions, and was told to update the timthimb file (which I did). Nothing was working and I was told my my host provider to do a site restore (using cpanel). I did that and still it was doing the same thing (broken images)…and now (a few hours later) it is not even working at all. Our site won’t even load. Is this common when doing a cpanel restore? Should I just be patient and wait?

I desperately need help and have been working for over 2 weeks to resolve this. We just want our website back to normal. 🙁 I wish wordpress had a help desk phone number that could help me to resolve this.
