• Hello,

I am new with wordpress but Love the concept and know when I learn what to do it’s going to be great! I installed the newest version of wordpress 2.8

Anyway, I uploaded wordpress in my cpanel and it installed fine. I’ve added plugins (which is a whole other set of questions about the amazon plugins) and used article autoposter which worked find and my posts look great. But…here are my questions…

    1. when I type my url in google it doesn’t come up. It shows up first but has http://www.mydomain.com/ftpquota in IE and mozilla but in mozilla there is a bunch of stuff underneath and it says that the siteowner has blocked this site due to robots.txt.
What does this mean and how do I fix it?

I hope I’m posting this in the right place and I thank anyone for their advice and knowledge about these problems. I don’t know where else to go for answers.

    Daisy

Ok, I just clicked on the link and it shows up but when I do a google search it doesn’t.

Its most likely that your site has not been indexed yet. Have you included it in your google webmaster account and uploaded a sitemap?

yes. The sitemap was done 4 days ago.
Do you know what this robot thing is? And how I can unblock it?

Have a look in your site’s root folder for a robot.txt file, if its there you can either rename it or remove it if its not needed.

You can also creat one in your google webmasters acount and specify if you wish to allow all or block some and son.

P.S: Google seem to be a bit slow on indexing lately – used to take a day or two for my blogs to be indexed, but I’ve noticed that they are taking no less than a week now (5 to 7 days). So give it a bit of time for that.

I have done several websites for friends, but none of them show up on Google.

    The websites are:
    Vitak-elsnic.com – up for 8 months
    drmikeproductions.com – up for 8 months
    makingmemorieswithmarie.com – up for 1 month

All of these sites have Google XML sitemaps plugin, and StatPress plugin installed. According to my stats, they are being crawled regularly by the google bots. I have allowed access in me settings panel for search engines to view the sites. What am I doing wrong with Google. Yahoo and Bing.com pick them right up.
