Site name, site title, blog_id

    Hi, I’ve got a few issues related to site name on multisite.
    I’m using wp_get_archives and switch_to_blog to display recent posts lists for some of my sites in my sidebar (I’m thinking this has to be more efficient thatnRSS feeds).
    This calls for blog_id but its really hard to find this in 3.1: how can we find this for each blog?

    Also, is there a way to display the site name/id as opposed to the site title or id#

    eg if my site is
    sitename.multisite.com and the name is “my site”

    I want to display sitename, not “my site”

    I’d like to have a link to sitename next to a link to multisite.
    I was going to display this instead of my tagline in my header.
