Do you know if it is possible not to differntiate upper an lower case for each site name?
http://www.domain.com/site --> ok
http://www.domain.com/SIte --> I get a 404 theme error
Welcome to using Unix.
Site and site are different things. You can use .htaccess to redirect Site to site, but they're going to cause wacky conflicts if you try to make two separate sites called Site and site.
In fact, I think you can't create Site and site because wordpress doesn't allow it...
So, the only thing is to do a htaccess rule to redirect ... a little mess if you are talking about multisite and we know Unix does difference upper and lower case... what usually do you do in your multisite plattforms?
Thanks a lot!
I use all lowercase. All the time. Actually I don't have an issue with WP pages. domain.com/About and domain.com/about both work for me. Weird.
Perfect for you! but what is the secret? do you have some htacess rule? or maybe is due server configuration..
I think it's my server config, tbh. I don't remember ever doing anything for it.
Aha! Research! It works on pages and posts, but not on SubSites. Well. That's interesting.
//301 Redirect Entire Directory RedirectMatch 301 ^/Sitename/(.*) http://domain.com/sitename/$1
Should do it.
Thanks Ipstenu :)
//301 Redirect Entire Directory
RedirectMatch 301 ^/Sitename/(.*) http://domain.com/sitename/$1
This redirect would works for only one sitename (or all you want, but you have to create the rule for each one), so I have to look into and see if is is possible to create a rule that works for any sitename.
Here there is a possible solution:
I have to try and see if this works in multisite platform.
That should work... and I'm adding it to my bag of tricks.
