    My webmaster moved my personal website http://www.bryanwalaspa.com. When she did so, for some reason I lost the ability to administer my site. When I log in, I can only update my profile. I cannot create pages. I cannot write blog posts. I have been pestering and pestering the webmaster who helped me create my site, and she seems to have no clue what happened.

    Help me! How do I fix this? I currently have a WordPress-based site I cannot update! Help!

    Sounds like you are only logged in as a Subscriber. Ask your webmaster to change your user role to Editor or Admin.

    I also forgot a key element. The webmaster had me log in under ADMIN to my site. I went through the process to change the password and logged in as ADMIN – and I saw the same things. I was unable to make any changes. Shouldn’t the ADMIN be able to make any changes necessary?

    Using Phpmyadmin (or another MySQL management tool), first backup your database. Then navigate to your wp_usermeta table and locate the meta_key called “wp_capabilities” for your user_id. Change the meta-value for this record to:

    a:1:{s:13:"administrator";b:1;}
