   but there is no option to upload the logo under _Appearance > Customize_. **Why?**

 * Sounds like you were looking at the WordPress.com showcase. On self-hosted sites,
   the [Jetpack plugin](https://wordpress.org/plugins/jetpack/) will get you the
   Site Logo feature in the Customizer. Let me know if that does the trick!
