• Dear Site Admin,

A host, 91.208.16.3, has been locked out of the WordPress site at http://slashergifs.com due to too many bad login attempts.

The host has been locked out until 2014-06-26 15:43:26

On top of that my site is running painfully slow and I can’t access the admin controls

What can I do about this? 🙁

The ip is somewhere in Russia if it means anything

Either you installed http://wordpress.org/plugins/limit-login-attempts/ at some point, or your hosting provider did for you.

Don’t worry about it, it’s just a security measure. It means that IP tried to login with an incorrect password too many times and has been temporarily locked out of the site.

Regarding the slowness and inability to access the Dashboard, try manually resetting your plugins. If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

If that does not resolve the issue, access your server via FTP or SFTP, navigate to /wp-content/themes/ and rename the directory of your currently active theme. This will force the default theme to activate and hopefully rule-out a theme-specific issue.
