2) If you are integrating Google Analytics with another plugin or manually in your theme Site Kit will detect the ID and not add its snippet to the site. You can also choose to use Site Kit’s snippet in the Google Analytics settings instead (as you may know, having two snippets is not recommended).
For Tag Manager, you can use your current method or use Site Kit to insert the container ID (this requires the Google Analytics connection in Site Kit).
3) Site Kit is not a performance plugin (although it has a PageSpeed Insights module that can help you monitor the performance of your site), but I’ll inquire with the team regarding your first question which may be related in this context.

@seoguru There is minimal impact on performance. Site Kit uses the various Google Product APIs to display data on the back end of your site only. Only minimal code is inserted into a users site, no different than any other Search Console, Analytics or other product implementation method.

Here is my take after using Site Kit for a months.
1. Its same like using analytics code inserted through your theme. The only difference is that you have a site kit dashboard with all analytics data. So if you hate logging into Analytics/ search console then use this plugin. Otherwise you can still live with your traditional code insertion.
2. It does not make any new HTTP calls. The number of calls are same as traditional method.
3. No impact on speed. Same speed like traditional method.
The speed can be improved by WP- Rocket plugin and hosting analytics codes locally. With WP-Rocket, the site is making only one HTTP calls and the analytic javascript can be cached.
Now here is one more question.

Site Kit displays information from a user’s Analytics account, so however you implement as long as the metrics in your Analytics dashboard are populating fine then this should also reflect in Site Kit dashboards. Having said that hosting Analytics locally is not recommended</a.
