    Hi Team,

Today afternoon, I logged into my WordPress website after a long time and noticed that my “Site Kit” plugin is unable to fetch data from my Google Search Console.

On my dashboard, I can see the following error under my “Site Kit” widget:

“Search Console data is not yet available, please check back later.”

I did reset the Site Kit plugin, and re-verified my ownership. Everything went smoothly, but still the error stayed.

I am currently using “Blog Way” theme and as suggested by @jamesosborne on other similar threads, I did try switching to a temporary theme and disabling all other WP plugins, but it didn’t help.

I have the latest version of PHP and even my PHP memory limit is set to maximum (did get this checked via my hosting provider), so I don’t think that these are creating an issue here.

Would appreciate if someone from the experts team can assist with this issue?

    Look forward to your response.

    Cheers,
    Manu Mathur

Hi Manu, thanks for reaching out. This notice that you’re encountering is normal if you’ve just setup Search Console on this site, or Site Kit has recognised a URL change. Such changes can include switching to https or adding a www prefix to your site. Providing your side is accessible via search and you have traffic this should start to display data as it becomes available.

I also performed a check on your site and it’s not yet available in Google search. Let’s check in a few days and ensure all is working as expected.

I am currently using “Blog Way” theme and as suggested by @jamesosborne on other threads, I did try switching to a temporary theme and disabling all other WP plugins, but it didn’t help.

Your active theme shouldn’t make any differences, once data is available in Search Console you’ll find this in your Site Kit dashboard. Note also that when suggesting to deactivate plugins I only do suggest doing so when applicable via the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin. In your case this is not applicable.

    Hi @jamesosborne

    Thanks for the quick revert.
As a matter of fact, I started this website in 2012, and have had set up Google Search Console right then.
So, I don’t think – it’s a new set up on the website.

Also, I didn’t make any changes on the site w.r.t URL. So, that too goes out.

However, one thing that scares me is: why does the “Site:blog URL” doesn’t fetch results for you? I ran that search here as well, and I got the same output.

I checked my Google Search Console separately and things seem fine there. I even checked the “Manual Actions” and “Security Options” under the header ‘Security and Manual Actions’, but found zero penalties/warnings.

If I am not being consistent in publishing with my blog posts (like a delay of several months occur) between two posts, can that hamper my search visibility???
    What’s your opinion on this?

And, yes, my Health check plugin shows no such issues, but I did that only as a precautionary step.

Would also appreciate your assistance on the Google visibility issue I am facing (<site: blog URL> showing zero results on Google).

    Thanks

Thanks for the update. I can’t be sure why your site at present isn’t ranking in search, did you have it redirected previously? I checked your robots.txt file and I don’t see anything unusual. Unfortunately from our side we can only assist with Site Kit related queries, however if you check with the product experts at the Search Central Help Center they should be able to assist better than we can here.

While I’ll check back with you later in a few days feel free to share your Site Health information via this form if you want me to confirm a successful Site Kit setup.

    Hi @jamesosborne

I did ran another search later and found the code “site:<blog URL>” to be generating the results properly. So, I guess, it was a temporary glitch that led us both see zero results on search.

Also, considering everything is fine, what in your opinion could be generating the primary error on Site Kit plugin?

Do you have any other workaround solutions that I can give a try?

Note: For convenience, I have also filled up the Google form and submitted my response.
Hopefully, you will find it useful.

    Look forward to your response.

Very strange indeed! I can’t be sure, hopefully indeed it was a temporary glitch. In relation to Search Console not showing data I suspect this is just a matter of waiting. From inspecting your Site Health information provided I noticed your connected to a Domain type property. Can you share whether you see data for this property directly when accessing this Search Console property link?

    (@transformers001)

    Hi @jamesosborne

Yes, I am able to view the data related for this property directly when I access Google Search Console.
I face zero issues on that part. It’s just that no particular data gets shown within my WP dashboard.

    Cheers

In that case I can’t be sure, from my side your site doesn’t appear when I perform searches. I can check with the team but it would be a few days before I have a response. I’ll do so and report back to you here if I have any additional insights.

In the meantime please share any results you find when using the URL inspection tool.

    (@transformers001)

    Sure, @jamesosborne

I will look forward to your response. You can take your time in analyzing the site.
Also, when I ran the URL inspection tool for my main URL (https://whereispillmythoughts(dot)com), I got the following results:

    1. Live Test URL results

    2. Google Index Results shown

I hope you’ll find these two images useful in your analysis.

    Look forward to your response.

    Cheers,

No problem Manu, it may take a few business days but I will get back to you with any additional findings I can determine.

    Hi Manu,

Thanks for your patience on this. I’ve spoken with the team and it would be great if you could perform a reset of the plugin before connecting once more. Without being sure of the cause a reset may refresh or connect to the same property you’re viewing in Search Console. To perform a reset please navigate to Site Kit > Settings > Admin Settings > Reset Site Kit.

Let me know once you’ve performed a reset. After doing so please check whether you can see any data. If not please share your Site Health information once more so I can check your connected property.

    (@transformers001)

    Thanks @jamesosborne for responding.

Give me 2-business days and I will perform the reset and check if I am able to see any data or not. Would request you to keep this thread active for now.

Yes, in case, I don’t see any relevant data within my dashboard, I will share my “Site Health information” with you guys.

Sounds good! Let me know how you get on after resetting. And good idea, please do share your Site Health information should you find that data is not appearing as expected.

    Hi @jamesosborne

Requesting you to keep the thread active as I would take 2-3 business days more to try resetting the Sitekit plugin and give you a detailed response.

Will get back to you on this soon.

    Thanks.

Not a problem, I’ll keep it open and we can check later in the week.

    Hi @jamesosborne

Thank you for waiting over the past few days.

As discussed earlier, I did perform a complete reset of the plugin and re-connected all my Services (Analytics/AdSense/ etc.) and faced no challenge on that part.

Once everything was set up properly, I switched back to WordPress dashboard and noticed that nothing had changed.

The dashboard still showed me the same error under my “Site Kit” widget:

“Search Console data is not yet available, please check back later.”

Here’s the image reference link for your perusal.

I have also updated the “Site Health Info” using the Google form link you shared earlier.
Hope that information helps you and the team in understanding the problem.

Note: I was also wondering if I should reset my Google Analytics account from scratch? I might lose all information & data (gathered over the years from 2013), but what if it helps?

Will look forward to your inputs on this and the previous information shared.
