    Hi,

I am getting this error from the Site Kit menu item at the top of the screen when viewing my site. If I open site kit from WP menu on left all is well.

An error occurred while running 'mapSelect': Cannot read properties of null (reading 'getReport')
The error may be correlated with this previous error:

Thanks for opening a support topic. Based on the information you kindly provided and previously users experience you may be encountering a conflict with a caching or optimization plugin configuration.

If you’d like to share your Site Health information using this form I’d be happy to check the plugins you have active, for some caching plugins there are exclusions that can be applied for Site Kit scripts.

You can also try to disable any minification feature with your caching or optimisation plugins. I noticed some references to a “SWIS Cache” when checking your sites source code.

    Hi,
Thanks for getting back to me. I have got SWIS Cache and just tried to turn everything off but the problem remains. I have shared my site health info with you also.
    Regards

Thanks for checking. From inspecting the plugins you have active I don’t see any obvious plugin with minification features. With that can you perform the steps below and inform me if the same occurs?

    1. Login to your site from a Chrome browser incognito window
    2. Install and activate the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin.
    3. Navigate to “Plugins > Health Check & Troubleshooting > Troubleshoot”.
    4. From the same screen click on the “Available Plugins” tab at the top right and then click on the “Enable” option next to “Site Kit by Google”
    5. Attempt to setup Site Kit once more

You can exit troubleshooting mode afterwards.

If the same doesn’t occur please active your other plugins one by one, checking for the same issue each time.

    Hi,
ok, it is the EWWW Image Optimizer plugin that is causing the issue. Once deactivated site kit from the top bar works fine.

Excellent troubleshooting, thank you for the update! I’ll put some time aside to check for any particular configuration that may be impacting the Site Kit admin toolbar, there may be exclusion options.

I can keep this support topic open if you wish in the meantime. On your own side feel free to check the configurations you’ve applied with EWWW Image Optimizer.

    Hi James,
May be worth keeping it open as I raised a ticket with EWWW Image Optimiser Team, will post their comment or fix when it comes through.

    Thanks again for your time.

    Regards

    Hi James,

OK, in the settings of EWWW Image optimizer there is an option “Include All Resources”. If this is selected the site kit will give the original error.

So I have mine off until maybe the conflict is sorted out.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Darren,

Thanks for the update. We’ve tested the same EWWW (free version) and we’ve so far been unable to recreate the same error. With that are you using the premium version of EWWWW? I don’t see the “Include all resources” option. I can see some references in within plugin documentation although it seems this is enabled by default.

    Hi Darren @filscotstudio,

Checking in here. Are you still having trouble with EWWW? Can you confirm that you are using the plugin’s premium version?

    Thank you!

@filscotstudio As we haven’t received a response, I’ll mark this as resolved. Feel free to open a new support topic if you continue to encounter issues, or reopen this topic and we’d be happy to assist. Thank you!

    @shetheliving

I don’t know if @filscotstudio is watching the thread anymore, but I can confirm that it is an issue on the premium issue. I have just identified the same issue (leading me here) and it does block Site Kit from seeing site traffic.

@njsteffey Thanks, Nick, for letting us know. I’d recommend reaching out to the EWWW Image Optimizer team and let them know about this conflict to see if they can exclude Site Kit’s JS files from being minified.

It does look like they also have some functionality for customizing rules for certain scripts that may be helpful here. Specifically, you would want to make sure the any files in wp-content/plugins/google-site-kit/ are *not* being minified.
