Resetting the settings does not help
Sent information
Good to know @hukserhii, appreciate the update. Can you share the information requested above and we can investigate this further? I added them below:
- Your Site Health information. You can use this form to share privately if preferred.
- When checking the Site Kit dashboard from a Chrome browser incognito window does the same occur? If so, please share any browser console errors that appear.
By sharing the above information we may be able to determine more.
The browser console is clean in incognito mode
For now, I uninstalled the plugin because it doesn’t work. And installed everything in manual mode. If there is something useful, or a solution, write. Thank you
Sorry to hear that you decided to uninstall the plugin, and thanks for sharing the additional information.
Unfortunately we don’t have other reports of this error, so I don’t have any known fix or workaround. As you’ve already tried resetting the plugin, with the same occurring, I’ll need to check this with the team based on the information you shared. I suspect this is occurring based on dimensions defined within the Site Kit connected Google Analytics 4 property, and how the plugin checks this, but I will need to check this further.
While you are no longer using the plugin, I will let you know once I determine more on this, and after I discuss this with the team. I’ll keep this support topic open in the meantime. If you do decide to give the plugin another try, it would be great to know if the same occurs if you select a different Google Analytics property within the plugin settings, even temporarily. Note a problem if you are unable to do so, but this may help determine a conflict with your GA4 settings and Site Kit.
I’ll keep you updated here regardless. Thank you.
Good afternoon.
I had the same problem on another site. The plugin was there for a long time and worked.`Cannot read properties of null (reading ‘createCustomDimensions’)</p> <pre class=”wp-block-code”><code>in DashboardMainApp in DashboardEntryPoint in RestoreSnapshots in ErrorHandler in ThemeProvider in StrictMode in Root`
Appreciate you sharing these insights, and that is occurs from another site. If possible, please share the following, which may help us determine the cause:
- Does the same occur if you temporarily select a different Google Analytics property from within your Site Kit settings?
- Are you encountering this on the Site Kit main dashboard page, the Site Kit settings page, the main WordPress dashboard (which contains a Site Kit widget), the Site Kit admin toolbar, or a combination of all these?
- If you upgrade to PHP 8 , does the same occur?
Let me know if you have any questions with the above.
Just to let you know that I discussed your case with the team and what may be happening is similar to what is described here. While we do have a fix pending for this, can you share whether the same occurs from another browser?
Is there any way to fix this? What are they?

https://github.com/google/site-kit-wp/issues/8211In relation to a temporary workaround, from your previous check this doesn’t occur from a Chrome browser incognito window. Can you show what browser you’re using when you encounter this error, along with any browser extensions? I can then perform some checks with a similar set up.
As we didn’t receive a response I’ll mark this as resolved. Feel free to open a new support topic if you continue to encounter issues, or reopen this topic and we’d be happy to assist.
