  • I have my business WordPress site on Pro. Last year I hired a designer to create my site. There is over 175 pages so do not want to start over from scratch. He has basically jacked my site and will not reply or give me the top level admin rights to add another admin to make corrections or remove him. Is there a way to add, or find out what this top level admin rights info is? I’m an admin, but not the top level seemingly. Ugh… Thanks

  • You need to contact your webhost, most likely.

Ugh, that sucks. 🙁 If you are an admin, you *should* be able to export all your content as an xml file, which you could then migrate to another site if necessary. Use your credentials to log in to the site, and then in the left side nav, go down to Tools> export, and choose “All content”.

That will basically give you the ability to export the contents of your site’s database. If you’re able to do export that file, then you have all the pages and their structure, just minus the theme and images.

To import it into another wordpress site, you go to the same place, but instead of export, choose import, and then upload the xml file.

If you don’t see the import/export option, then you most likely are either not an admin, or your designer has used a plugin to lock you out.

    Good luck!!
