[resolved] Site Goes Blank, No Theme Showing (5 posts)

I just switched to a new theme yesterday. I've noticed since then, that at various times when I visit my site, it is totally blank, white, nothing there at all. I freaked out the first time this happened. I was able to go to my admin panel and discovered that no theme was set. Once I re-set the theme, my site returned just fine.

It keeps happening though. It's like my theme won't "stick" or something. Any ideas what the problem may be?

Typically, an illegal function (code problem) in your theme causes WordPress to reset it so the WordPress Default 1.6 theme gets displayed.

But makes me wonder if you still have the WordPress Default 1.6 theme installed?

Hmm...no, I don't have the Default theme installed.

But what type of code problem could/should I look for? I mean, the code is validated, so if there's something there that shouldn't be, I don't know what it would be. It's practically the exact same code my previous theme had (and I had no problems with that one "disappearing").

And a suggestion that you also copy your theme files into the default folder--what a trick:

Well, I actually ended up copying my theme files into the default folder. Everytime I set my theme to my actual theme folder, it ends up going to the default one. This solution works, so I guess I'll just have to always keep my theme files in the default folder.
