Site goes black when activating Type plugin

I’ve installed the Sydney theme on a WordPress website I’m developing locally on my computer using MAMP. I’ve installed and activated the Page Builder by SiteOrigin plugin with no problems. However, when I activate the Types plugin, my entire website goes blank (500 Server error). I’ve tried installing the plugin both through the admin interface and directly via the plugins folder. No matter which, when I activate the plugin, the site goes blank again and is only fixed by manually removing the Types folder from my plugins folder.

Any ideas? I’d love to use the Sydney theme if possible!
