    Hi,

I have moved a clients site from one hosting to another using duplicator, and am now getting a 500 error when trying to view the site. I created the package fine (no warning or errors) and the wordpress and duplicator were most recent version as at 28th November (can’t access old site location now as dns have been changed to point to new location). I uploaded the package and installer to the new location, and it all ran fine right through to step 4 with no errors, but if I click on the link to log into wordpress and set the permalinks, or try to vist the url, I get a 500.

I have done this many times before using duplicator, moving to the same type of hosting on with the same host. I’ve tried deleting and running again several times, checked the .htaccess and error logs and can’t see anything. Any ideas would be much appreciated.

    Thank you,

  • Hey @rhartland,

Thanks for the feedback! There are a few items in the FAQ that may provide a solution to this issue, this one may get you going.

        – Why does the installer not finish or error (403, 500) before the last step?

Try the “Disable Plugins” option it seems to have helped other users before…

Let me know if any of them help~

    Hi Cory,

Thanks for the reply. I’ve worked it out, the hosting was set to php 7.0 by default, and one of the plugins on the site didn’t like that. Have set it to 5.6 and it all works fine. No performance issues with 5.6, as its a small lightweight site.

    Cheers,
    Richard

    Excellent! Thanks for the update…
