site generator vertical and next to footer area widget

    Hi,

    I have a Twentyeleven child theme. http://www.route32.be/demaeyer/

    I want to have the bottom footer (the site generator) to be vertical (so to read it, you’d have to tilt your head) and next to the regular footer area.

    I’ve considered 2 ways to do this:
    (1) add the text to the footer area and format that text differently from the rest of the footer area; I think this would require working with a # (a sub-element of the footer, I can’t remember the proper term for it)
    and then also remove the site generator from the theme altogether

    (2) format the css for the site generator so that it appears at the same height as the footer widget areas

    Both ways feel like a lot to figure out for me, so I first wanted to check which strategy is best. And if you have any pointers on what to add to the css for either choice 1 or 2, would be much appreciated.

    And when I say that I want the site generator text next to the footer area, I mean on the left side, vertical, and glued to the bottom of the page. So where the text begins, the first letter is at the very bottom of the page. Meaning, I want no other space below the footer, as it is now from the site generator. Hope that makes sense.
    Can I share a picture somehow? I have a jpeg of how I want the page to look like…

    You’d probably need to modify the footer.php file and use fixed or absolute positioning in the CSS code for the element on the side.

    You can only post links here — but there are free sites where you can post an image — or use your regular site — put the image on a page and link to it here.

    Looking at this now, do you think your suggestion to modify the footer is still the easiest way..?

    I moved my image to http://www.route32.be/demaeyer/about/
