• My website, sbranch.org, runs on WordPress V. 3.0.3 and the task of editing pages has become extremely tedious and slow. Whereas, with previous versions I could typically go to my site, hit ‘edit this page’, and make a simple edit in a few seconds, and preview it. Now it takes about 60 seconds for the edit dashboard to come up and another 60 seconds for the change to be displayed. Also when I try to pull up a new page, it takes 60 seconds for the blank page to come up. Whereas with earlier versions there was a button labeled publish, but now it says ‘submit for review’ or somesuch, and when I do a screen labeled posts comes up saying there are no posts. Then I have to spend a minute or so pulling up the new page by typing in the url. Any help from somebody out there?

Also, why isn’t 3.0.3 even one of the default choices available for this forum? Am I seeking help at the wrong place?

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Ten theme to rule out any theme-specific problems?

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin? Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a fresh download of WordPress?

    – increasing the memory available to PHP?
